Bon Voyage with Baby!

Today we are doing what many have told us is crazy.

We are leaving for Europe for 18 days with our little one year old.  I knew when I booked this trip that blogging it was in the cards.  We’ve done our research but there was so little to find.  Yes, we found tips and tricks on dealing with the plane.  Yes, we were given advice on how to attack certain things.  But we found a lot of things missing.  The question that was never answered: Can you go away with a baby and still feel like you are on vacation?

That has been my goal since planning this trip.  To make a getaway that feels like Easy E are living the dream, and with a baby.  We aren’t Rockefeller so we had to really save for this trip, but it’s by no means a budget trip.  It’s also not a fancy getaway.  It’s a trip that any parents could save for and go on if motivated.

What am I most excited about this morning?  Doing what Easy E and I love most with Mags for the first time.  Knowing I won’t be cleaning dishes, and making beds, and doing laundry for almost three weeks.  Easy E and I always feel that we are our best versions of ourselves on vacation.  I guess there is a part of me that hopes that is true and we can show that side to Mags.

What am I most nervous about this morning?

It won’t be us!

THE PLANE RIDE!  Now we very specifically chose to fly Virgin Atlantic due to so many amazing experiences prior to baby.  Also because they provide a baby bassinet and better seating options.  However, I’ll be taking notes and jotting down true tips and tricks when we take Mags on her first overnight plane ride from JFK to LHR for 7.5 hours.

I guess I’m nervous she’ll lose her mind.  Easy E and I have gone through every scenario in our head except the one we pray happens…she just sleeps the whole time.  Either way that will be my first blog post.  The air up there is thin and hopefully it will keep us with a clear head.

On our European adventures I want to blog about what I researched the most.  Our accomodations with a baby, flying with a baby, sightseeing, food, and all the things we brought to make our lives easier.

So Bon Voyage…the next time you hear from me I’ll either have had a mommy win on the plane or a mommy teachable moment.  I plan to blog from our hotel in London…the Cheval Three Quays.   My favorite and most anticipated pick of the trip!

This is the view that will get me through this plane ride!

I don’t care.  I’m so excited to go on this adventure with my favorite little adventure.
